Paul Kerensa - Scriptwriter



Winner of the BBC Radio Entertainment Contract Writer Bursary 2004-2005 writer and comedian Paul Kerensa has written for a number of BBC Radio 4 programmes including The News Quiz, Dead Ringers and The Now Show.

He continues script-editing for BBC Radio Entertainment and BBC Television and currently writes on the Lee Mack sitcom Not Going Out together with After You’ve Gone, both for BBC1. He also recently wrote two episodes for Hudson & Pepperdine.

Winner of ITV1’s Take the Mike Award 2002 and finalist in Daily Telegraph Award, Wilkinson Sword Award and BBC New Comedy Award 2002, Paul regularly gigs all over the UK. Venues include Comedy Store, Jongleurs, Banana Cabaret, Glee Club, Komedia and various corporate events. He was also invited to support top mime duo Men In Coats on their recent UK theatrical tour.

Paul took his debut solo show, ‘Paul Kerensa’s 26’, to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2005 and was a surprise hit, selling out on many occasions and even turning a profit! He returned for another successful run in 2006 with his follow-up show ‘Back To The Futon’.

Paul performed his new show ‘Genesis’ at the Fringe in 2007. In addition, he has recently filmed a number of rants to be screened on ITV4 and a hidden camera show for MTV with Tiger Aspect.

International performances include Nice, Berlin, Monte Carlo and the Montreal Comedy Festival.
